We often find players playing as outside backs who are not very tall, so height is not that important here, what they also have is a lot of endurance to cover long distances in high intensity. In modern football, outside backs go up and down many times so they should be able to attack and defend on the same play in case the team loses the ball high on the field when they are in the final third.
